Last week, as Ms. Gwen was subbing in the Elementary Classroom, she worked with Matthew as he wrote a verse he memorized for one of his tests. Afterward, Matthew remarked, “That is one of my favorite verses!” The verse was 1 Corinthians 15:58 “May you be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
Many of our students grow up in communities that are unstable and transient. Our students need to know that God can bring peace, stability, and purpose to their lives. We have seen the impact of Christ in Matthew’s life. He has grown tremendously in his love for God and others over the years he has been a student here at Mt. Clare. He frequently asks to pray for his peers and for his teachers. When asked why he likes being a student at Mt. Clare, Matthew responded, “I like my teachers, my friends, and I like learning about God!”
Our school is a spiritual lifeline for this student and his family. Thank you for making this ministry possible for students who would have grown up without a community of Christians to support, encourage and pray for them.
