Spring Break Urban Program

SBUP MCCSIn March, two teams of students from the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Baltimore Spring Break Urban Program served at MCCS. These students attend local colleges in Baltimore and gave up their spring break vacations to serve in our inner city. SBUP students performed a variety of tasks: shoveling snow, removing ice, organizing our supplies, tutoring students, and helping in other ways. Both teams were full of joy, creativity and love for the Lord. Our students benefit from interacting with young adults who are committed to the Lord, and some of whom themselves come from urban backgrounds. One SBUP student remarked, “This time when I came, students were asking me questions about college. That hadn’t happened before, and I thought it was really cool!” As our students interact with Christian college students, they gain a vision and hope for their academic and spiritual future.
