School's out for the Summer06.23.09Congratulations to all the kids who made it through the whole year and especially to the ones who graduated. We had six 8th graders graduate this year some of who will be going on to other schools next year and we wish them the best of luck. Extra congratulations go to the four high school kids who made it the whole way through. Good luck in whatever you decided to do and may God watch over you. Thank you to Gwen who has run our school for the last two years and will be stepping down as administrator. She will still be with us as a high school teacher. Remember to pray for our new school administrator, Jeanie Miller, who will be taking over this coming year. Don't forget to have a great summer! Go to the beach or the zoo see some otters or something! The End Is Near05.18.09Thank you to everyone who came and helped on May 9th with the ten year celebration. The weather was beautiful and everything went smoothly. We are almost finished with this school year but still need prayer for our graduates who are finishing up. There are also seven 8th graders moving up this year. The Graduation ceremony for the high school will be held on June 13th and the middle school ceremony will be on June 2. Anyone who wants to show support for the graduates is welcome to attend. We continue to need your prayers for some students who are struggling academically and for some of the situations outside of school. Pray for the 8th graders who will be going off to different high schools next year that they will remember God's love for them. 10 Year Celebration Day04.20.09Please join us on Saturday, May 9, between 2:30 and 7:30 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Mount Clare Christian School. There will be games, face painting, volleyball, and free hot dogs for everyone who attends. We will be having two programs for your convenience: one starting at 2:30 and a later one starting at 6:30. At 5:00 there will be an appreciation dinner for donors. Come celebrate with us, tour the school, meet the teachers and students, and find out more about our program. We hope to see you there! Banquet a Success03.23.09Thanks to everyone who made our 10 year banquet a big success, we were able to raise over 3000 dollars. All the children that participated did a really excellent job and the program went smoothly. Thank you to everyone who helped with the food, cleanup, and setup. Keep praying that we will be around for another ten years. Thank you again for all your continuing prayer and donations. MCCS Celebrates 10 Years02.25.09We welcome our supporters and others who are interested in our ministry to the children of inner-city Baltimore to attend our 10 year anniversary celebration. The dinner and program will be held on Friday, March 13 at 6:30pm at Camp Andrews. After dinner, students from the school will be performing a short program. A voluntary offering will be taken. If you would like to attend or need directions to Camp Andrews please email Mount Clare at mtclarecs@gmail.com Board Member Promoted To Glory01.21.09On Thursday, January 15, 2009 we lost our dear friend, mentor, and brother in Christ, Harold Burkholder. Harold left his home on earth at 10:20 PM while surrounded by family, bound for his true home with Jesus. Harold was a faithful supporter of Mount Clare Christian School and served on the board from the time Mount Clare was founded in 1998. We will miss him very much. Harold's Grandson, Jason, is one of our High-School teachers. Please remember to pray for the Burkholder family at this time. Our 44 students are working very hard - eager to reach their goals. Four of our students (Michael, Sharnisha, Ciara & Tiffany) have graduation within their reach this year. It will be a lot of hard work, but if they are diligent, they can do it! Please join us in praying for them. We feel especially blessed to have each of our 8 staff members back this year, ready to teach and to serve in the name of Jesus. We'd also like to say goodbye to our two summer interns, Kaylyn Myers and Jon Bollinger--they were terrific! Congratulations to Our 2008 Graduates!6.21.08On Saturday night, we got to celebrate the graduation of our five 2008 graduates! Wendy Cash, Richard Stein, Wendy Taylor, Michael Weaver, and Manly Shore all successfully completed their work, so we did what came naturally: celebrated!
